There’s no better place to be a kid than at First Baptist Westfield!
First-time visitors to our children's programs always ask their parents to come back again. They love it here! Attentive teachers, fun activities, comfortable relationships, and engaging lessons all come together in our children's activities.
Infants and toddlers receive special attention from a paid Nursery Director, which gives the little ones a familiar face each week. Volunteer adults and youth assist with child care. We follow careful screening and safety procedures to protect children.
Most Sundays kids begin at 10:15am in worship with their families, where they experience the gathered church family. After a brief lesson geared to them ("Children's Moments"), children ages 4-5th grade are escorted upstairs for their Sunday School Program. Sunday School concludes at 11:30, about the time worship concludes. Parents are always welcome to participate with their children if they are more comfortable or children may remain in the worship service with their parents.
A Children's Choir for 4 year old through fifth grade children is integrated into the SundaySchool program at First Baptist. After their morning lesson (10:30-11:30 am), the children enter the choir room for a time of singing, to worship God that day and to practice a song they will sing during worship every 6-8 weeks. Participating in choir is optional, but lots of fun.
Throughout the school year we offer a variety of programming for children. Pictured below are the children that participated in our 2009 Christmas Pageant.

Vacation Bible School, for a week in the summer, is a popular hit. The entire church facility is transformed and decorated to suit its special theme. The theme for 2009 was “Camp Edge". Some of the children are pictured above.
We enjoy children, and they can tell! We teach our children the time-tested truths of the Christian faith, and then encourage them to apply them to their everyday lives.
